Martyr

A martyr is a person killed because of his faith in God. The word, martyr, was derived from maltreatment. Therefore, the martyrs are the people maltreated by their persecutors.

The Implications

At every point in time, the way a saint dies, is a signal to the world, about the future coming developments and events:

3.     Abraham, Isaac and Jacob died peacefully. A sign of the coming blessings, favours, success and prosperity of the Israelites.

4.     Holy Joshua De Conqueror died wearing black garment. A sign that both Israelites and humanity were entering a long period of darkness, age of spiritual blindness, ignorance and laziness.

5.     High Priest Eli died, by falling down backwards. A sign that the Israelites would reject their God and king, their maker and father.

6.     Jesus Christ died crucified not the cross. A sign of the many and gruesome persecutions and tribulations which the Christians had to suffer after His death.
